Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, nearly $1 billion has been invested to fulfill the organizational promise. In the past nine years, Komen Northern Nevada has funded $1.7 million to support education, screening and treatment of women and men in Northern Nevada in their fight against breast cancer. Komen Northern Nevada AffiliateDuring the past nine years, the Komen Northern Nevada Affiliate has been honored to grant more than $1.7 million to local community programs! Through these grants, medically underserved women receive education, screening and medical treatment. In addition, supportive services include wigs, prostheses, head coverings, nutritional supplements, temporary lodging and transportation. Plan to participate in the 10th Anniversary 2008 Komen Northern Nevada Race for the Cure ® on Sunday, October 5th! Registration opens July 24, 2008. The Race will be held at the new location, University of Nevada, Reno! Please check back as we update information for our 2008 Race.
